The NASEM Board on Science Education is holding a free, public Symposium Event: The Future is Now: Advancing and Sustaining an Equity-Oriented Science, on September 20, 2022, and offering both in-person and virtual attendance.

In March 2022, The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released The Future of Education Research at IES: Advancing an Equity-Oriented Science, a new consensus report for the National Center for Education Research (NCER) and the National Center for Special Education Research (NSCER) at the Institute of Education Sciences (IES).

The report’s authoring committee is now hosting a one-day symposium event, aimed at engaging audiences in public discussions around major messages and recommendations. These conversations will involve representatives from both the general and special education communities, as well as experts across multiple disciplines and methodological perspectives.
