Virtual event! Dr. Jordan Harshman, Auburn University, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022
Due to the COVID situation around the country, and MSU pivoting to remote operations for at least the next few weeks, we are changing our plans and will host Dr. Harshman virtually so that he can still give his planned presentation. We are sorry that we can't welcome him in person, but delighted that we can still hear about his work.
Dr. Harshman's talk, "Characterizing Uncertainty in Models of Instructional Profiles and Chord Diagrams as a tool for Educational Insights" will highlight his work on two separate projects. One focuses on the decisions that can greatly affect results in educational research and how researchers can reasonably estimate uncertainty in model-based applications, while the second examines how large groups of students are thinking about disciplinary topics and how instructors can quickly and accurately assess that thinking using Classroom Observation Protocol for Undergrad Students (COPUS).
